A Tug-of-War Between Two Luxury Giants

Among luxury brands, two of the top choices are the storied German automaker Audi and Toyota’s luxury marque, Lexus. Audi’s heritage dates back to 1910, when the company was established by August Horch in Zwickau, Germany. Audi is currently part of the Volkswagen group. Lexus was created in 1989 as the luxury division of automaker Toyota, with its products sold in more than 70 countries and territories across the globe. Audi models are built exclusively in Germany, while most – but not all – Lexus models come from Japan.

Both brands are represented in most segments, and many of their models are offered in higher-performance trims. Audi and Lexus vehicles are well-equipped and luxuriously trimmed, and thus command premium prices. But which brand packs the biggest punch?

We’ll answer that question in the following slideshow, backed by information and scoring taken from U.S. News’ extensive new car rankings and reviews. Since we constantly update our vehicle scores as new information becomes available, the scores you see on these pages may not precisely match the information on our individual review pages.

Read on to find out who wins our brand battle between Audi and Lexus.
