Scorecard

Interior: 8.0

Reviewers admire the Vantage's classy and elegant two-passenger cabin. Not only does it feature loads of features, but its cargo room ranks near the top of its class. What’s more, the Vantage is highly customizable. With Aston Martin's personalization program, owners can choose from a wide range of color/material combinations to truly make it one of a kind.

  • "Stunning. High-quality leather surfaces are put together with hand-crafted contrast stitching. Genuine metal trim adds a sporty touch, complementing the classy cabin." -- Consumer Guide
  • "[T]he V8 Vantage features a high-class cabin truly befitting its lofty price tag and its celebrated Aston Martin badge." -- Edmunds
  • "The interior is hand-assembled and hand-finished in a manner that one would expect from a high-end British sports car, and yet the V8 Vantage costs substantially less than the Gallardo Spyder or the Bentley Continental GTC." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "Everything -- as reviewers are wont to say -- falls readily to hand, with few of the ergonomic nightmares that often befall the limited production sports car." -- Kelley Blue Book

Seating

The two-passenger Vantage provides comfortable and supportive seating for average-size adults, but not for large ones. For greater passenger room, check out the similarly-priced Audi R8. Motor Trend says it has "enough headroom for an NBA player."

  • "The seats are firm, yet all-day comfortable. Most adults should have plenty of legroom. Headroom is coupe-typical."--Consumer Guide
  • "[W]e found the seats comfortable yet extraordinarily supportive, even under the most aggressive driving." -- BusinessWeek
  • "Space for most drivers is adequate, but larger occupants may find the seat and footwell too narrow." -- Edmunds

Interior Features

Reviewers are impressed with the V8 Vantage’s long list of standard convenience features -- which includes leather upholstery, Organic Electroluminescent displays, and a 160-watt Aston Martin audio system with six-disc CD changer.

  • "Big thumbs up for the beefy steering wheel, the jewel-like gauges (including a tachometer that winds in the wrong direction), the raised stitch leather, the well-bolstered seat, the alcantara headliner and the exquisite sound system." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "British cars are known for their eccentricities, and one of the V8 Vantage roadster's is its tachometer needle, which swings counterclockwise as the rpms rise." -- Cars.com
  • "The center stack has been completely redesigned with more attractive and easier-to-use climate and audio controls, while the optional navigation system is all-new and hard-drive-based for faster processing." -- Edmunds

Cargo

Reviewers are satisfied with the Vantage's cargo room -- which is impressive for its class. While the coupe features 10.6 cubic feet of storage space, the convertible offers 5.0 cubic feet. The only other exotic sports car to offer more cargo room is the Ferrari California, which provides up to 12.7 cubic feet.

  • "The coupe's cargo bay will accommodate a weekend's worth of soft luggage, but not much more. There's also a small parcel shelf behind the seats. Other interior storage is meager, including a small glovebox, center console, and door pockets." -- Consumer Guide
  • "Thanks to the rear hatch, you even get a bit of storage area along with your cachet. Granted it's not big enough to justify getting rid of the Range Rover. But when you want a space out front of Spago Beverly Hills, the Vantage is just the ticket." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "Unlike the DB9, Aston chose to make no pretense of a back seat with Vantage. Instead, there's a small but quite useful storage area complimenting the car's modest but useful cargo compartment -- which is large enough to contain a long weekend's needs, or a pair of golf bags." -- BusinessWeek
  • "Golfers will appreciate room for a deluxe bag of clubs, and skiers -- with removal of the security cover - can carry skis inside the car, something Bond couldn't do with his Lotus Esprit." -- Kelley Blue Book
