Here’s the Latest on the Bowtie Brand’s Most Important Model

In the highly competitive full-size truck segment, lifecycles are short and buyers want to move fast. The Chevrolet Silverado was last redesigned in 2014, and if this was a compact car or a crossover, it would probably soldier on at least a couple more years. That’s not good enough for a pickup, which is why Chevrolet recently teased the upcoming fourth-generation 2019 Silverado at a gathering of Silverado owners at the Texas Motor Speedway (pictured above).

The Silverado is General Motors’ best-selling model, as well as its most profitable, so the next generation is already being studied and scrutinized ahead of its official launch. However, the unofficial reveal in mid-December, which showcased just the LT Trailboss model, provided few hard facts. Most of the new Silverado’s specs are still under wraps, but we will certainly learn more as the 2018 auto show season gets underway.

The Chevy Silverado is scheduled to be launched at the Detroit Auto Show this weekend.
