2012 Acura TL Overview

The base 2012 Acura TL has front-wheel drive and a 3.5-liter V6, while the all-wheel drive trim is powered by a 3.7-liter V6, and reviewers agreed that both engines are smooth, hushed and deliver strong acceleration. The TL comes with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. The 2012 Acura TL gets up to an EPA-estimated 20/29 mpg city/highway, which is consistent with the fuel economy of others in the class. Critics were impressed with the TL’s cornering ability, especially in the SH-AWD trim, which they said enables you to maintain control while cornering at higher speeds. Reviewers agreed that the TL’s brakes are strong. Some said its steering is very precise, though others thought it feels a bit numb. Test drivers added that the TL’s ride is firm, yet comfortable.

Most critics found the 2012 Acura TL’s interior to be attractive, and agreed that it is made with top-quality materials like soft-touch plastics and rich leather. Test drivers said the front seats are spacious and comfortable, and they added that the back seats are quite roomy for the class. The TL’s trunk is comparably sized with rivals’ trunks, though the trunk on the SH-AWD model is slightly smaller. Standard features in the 2012 Acura TL include leather upholstery, heated front seats, eight-way power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-speaker stereo, satellite radio, a USB port, Bluetooth and a sunroof. Available features include a rearview camera, an upgraded audio system, navigation, ventilated front seats and blind spot monitoring.
