2010 Acura MDX Overview

The seven-seat 2010 Acura MDX is a family crossover with very good performance. Test drivers said its updates for the 2010 model year added even more luxury and technology, giving it a particularly luxurious interior. Base trims come with a lot of standard features, including an eight-speaker stereo system with speed-sensitive volume control, tri-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery and heated, eight-way power-adjustable front seats. Most reviewers said the MDX is one of the most fun-to-drive SUVs in the class. Add that to its great safety ratings, and there’s a lot to like about the 2010 Acura MDX.

However, the MDX does have a few downsides. Other crossovers have slightly better fuel economy, and some test drivers said its grille looks like a beak or a can opener. The MDX’s firm, sport-tuned suspension means that its ride may be too harsh for some drivers. If you want an upscale crossover with more luxury brand prestige, off-road capacity or better gas mileage, you may want to consider some of the MDX’s competitors. But for a great all-around SUV that doesn’t sacrifice fun driving dynamics, it doesn’t get much better than the 2010 Acura MDX.

Other Cars to Consider

If you’re shopping for a three-row luxury crossover, you should make sure that the 2010 Lincoln MKT is on your list. Test drivers said its third-row seats were fairly roomy, and they praised its powerful engine and smooth, composed handling.

Shoppers who need a bit more capability from their luxury SUV and can afford a likely-higher price tag should consider the 2010 Lexus GX. It’s based on the 2010 Toyota 4Runner and carries on the 4Runner’s dependable off-road performance and hefty towing capacity, while offering an interior that’s worthy of the Lexus badge.
