Nissan Celebrates 50 Years of GT-R with Special Edition Trims

The Nissan GT-R, colloquially known as “Godzilla,” is a luxury sports car with a unique attitude. Nissan hasn’t given the GT-R a full redesign since 2009, though there have been occasional tweaks over the past few years to ensure tech and comfort features didn’t fall too far behind those offered by competitors.

Many fans were hoping to see more substantial updates for the 2020 model to help celebrate the car’s 50th anniversary, but they’ll have to be sated with two special editions. The 50th Anniversary Edition, unveiled at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, joins the Track Edition and Nismo Edition for the 2020 model year. Whether you’re a long-time fan of the GT-R or you’re new to this storied nameplate, Nissan has remained committed to making the car enjoyable for drivers of all levels. Let’s take a closer look at the GT-R’s anniversary year.
