These Cars Made the Biggest Splash in New York

The New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) is one of the premier auto shows in the U.S., along with the Los Angeles International Auto Show and Detroit Auto Show. That means many manufacturers choose to debut their hottest new models in NYC.

Debuts at auto shows come in all shapes and sizes, and some are more notable than others. We’ve picked the debuts that made the biggest impression on us and that we think will be most important to car buyers.

Vehicles that were revealed at the 2019 New York Auto Show, like the new 2020 Toyota Highlander, tended to make a bigger splash than vehicles we saw before the show, like the Cadillac CT5. However, both are included on this list, because they’re major new models for their brands and for buyers.

The Highlander joins a substantial list of new or redesigned SUVs. Sport utility vehicles continue to own the U.S. market, so it’s no surprise so many new models are being introduced at the New York Auto Show.

Take a look at the following pages to see which new cars and SUVs from the New York International Auto Show we think will make the biggest impact in the coming year. If you’d like to see our full coverage of NYIAS, check out our full photo gallery here.
