Volkswagen Debuts Re-Sized SUV: Volkswagen Tiguan

Volkswagen is working to move forward from the diesel emissions scandal and is refocusing their United States sales efforts on the popular SUV market. The automaker unveiled the latest iteration of their compact SUV, the Tiguan, at the North American International Auto Show.

The completely redesigned Tiguan is getting longer and more capable for 2018 with features made to especially appeal to American buyers.

“The new Tiguan demonstrates how we plan to give American customers the usability and versatility they demand without sacrificing style or Volkswagen’s trademark driving dynamics,” said Hinrich J. Woebcken, CEO of the North American Region, Volkswagen. “Every detail of the Tiguan has been thoughtfully engineered for our U.S. customers to maximize space and convenience, while retaining its performance, agility, and value.”

The Tiguan is the second VW SUV to be introduced in recent months. It follows the debut of the three-row Volkswagen Atlas in late 2016 and continues a commitment to the U.S. market that will evolve as the company readies to bring electric vehicles to the country by 2021.
