Nissan Rogue vs. Honda CRV

The Honda CRV was one of the first crossover SUVs to hit the market, debuting in 1997. Since then, it has become one of the most popular models in this category, outselling competitors such as the Toyota RAV4 and Ford Escape for the past four years.

In 2008, almost a decade after the CRV was born, Nissan launched its Rogue crossover. Sales have been increasing by double digits since 2010, with an explosive 44 percent sales jump in 2015, just one year after a redesigned Rogue was released.

Both the CRV and the Rogue pack a lot of family-friendly features into their compact bodies, which accounts for a portion of their success. For U.S. News & World Report's 2016 Best Car for Families awards, the CRV took the top prize in the compact SUV category; the Rogue placed second alongside the Hyundai Tucson.
